Series One - On hearing that his branch of the paper merchants might close down, David Brent promises his staff that under his regime there will be no redundancies. Series Two - It is now two weeks after we saw that the Slough office of the Wernham Hogg paper merchants has been saved from closure and six new employees have arrived from Swindon in a merger, including David's dynamic new boss Neil and Rachel who sets Tim and Gareth's pulses racing. One of the new employees, Brenda, is in a wheelchair, and David's indelicate sense of humour finds him hauled before Jennifer Taylor Clark, and it isn't even tea-time yet! Christmas Specials - The end of the popular BBC series is reached in these two Christmas Specials. We return to Wernham Hogg to discover what has become of Dawn, Tim, Gareth and others. Do Dawn and Tim finally get it together? Has Gareth finally managed to succeed in management? Will Tim ever find a work companion that he can get on with? Meanwhile, David Brent has become a sales rep for a company selling cleaning products after blowing his redundancy money on a failed pop career.
