Three films. Witness - A Philadelphia detective is thrust into the heart of a strict religious sect in rural America in order to protect the son of an Amish widow, who has witnessed a murder. Harrison Ford and Kelly McGillis, in her first starring role, are superb as two people from vastly different cultures whose worlds collide as affection grows between them in this double Oscar-winner. Clear And Present Danger - Ford returns as CIA agent Jack Ryan. When Admiral James Greer becomes gravely ill, Jack is appointed as acting CIA Deputy Director of Intelligence. His first assignment is to investigate the murder of one of the President's friends. He discovers a link between the American Government and a drug cartel in South America. Unknown to Ryan the CIA has already sent a paramilitary force into Colombia to attack the drug lords. Ryan follows, becomes caught in the crossfire and risks his life to discover the truth. K19 - The Widowmaker - Based on actual events that took place during the Cold War, K-19 tells the story of the Russian submarine K-19, nicknamed the 'Widowmaker'. An impressive undersea weapon that was meant to inspire enough fear into the United States to keep them from bombing Moscow. But the ship was ordered to sea before it was ready and encountered problems that could have lead to the start of World War Three. The film follows the heroism of Captain Alexei Vostrikov who is ordered to take command of the submarine and is prepared to disobey orders from Moscow to save his crew.
