Three films. Flashdance - Musical packed with songs and superb dance sequences, in which a young girl who works in a factory dreams of becoming a professional dancer. The song 'What a Feeling' made the film an award-winner. Footloose - In this story of adolescent hopes and dreams, a kid from Chicago moves to a small town where dancing has been banned by the Puritanical preacher. Despite this, the newcomer is determined to arrange a dance, yet his efforts are complicated by his involvement with the pretty but confused preacher's daughter. Pretty In Pink - John Hughes wrote this Brat Pack movie about teenage growing pains, with Molly Ringwald playing the girl from the wrong side of the tracks who falls for an uptown boy and starts going to a classy high school. An interesting look at teenage American insecurities.
