Narrated by George Stevens Jr, the film covers the D-Day Armada, the liberation of Paris and the nightmare discovery of Dachau. Winner of three Emmy Awards. George Stevens: A Filmmaker's Journey - A documentary about the life and work of George Stevens, put together by George Stevens Jr. Includes interviews with actors and contemporaries (Fred Astaire, Warren Beatty, Frank Capra, Cary Grant, Katherine Hepburn, John Huston, Joel McCrea, Alan Pakula, Ginger Rogers, Elizabeth Taylor, and others) as well as behind the scenes home movies. Stevens was also assigned by Eisenhower to film key events of WWII and the documentary contains highlights from this spectacular footage. Winner of the International Documentary Association Award.
