A music-mad 70s teenager finds himself on tour with a rock group as a Rolling Stone reporter after lying about his age to wangle a place on tour with the up-and-coming band Stillwater. Fifteen year old William leaps head first into sex, drugs and a rock 'n' roll lifestyle. He comes to idolise lead guitarist Russell Hammond - unfortunately he also falls in love with Russell's girlfriend, Penny Lane!
