D-Day Remembered - Part 1 Movie
Planning, Waiting, Go. Into the third year of the war, 1942, the Americans wished to invade France but Britains was not convinced that this was a viable proposition. After a lot of deliberation they found a compromise. North Africa was invaded first, shortly followed by Sicily, then Italy, in the hope that this would throw the Germans off balance. It was a successful ploy as the German's didn't know where the allies would invade next - Norway, Denmark, Northern or Southern France, Portugal, or the Balkans.
