D-Day Remembered - Part 2 Movie
The Planning Begins. American airborne divisions, the 82nd and the 101st, landed on the Cotentin Peninsula, protecting the right flank of the American landing beaches Utah and Omaha. Utah was a walk over for the Americans, however Omaha turned out to be a blood bath as wave after wave of troops were mown down as they landed. Only American determination kept them pushing forward until eventually the beach was secure.
