Othello/ Merchant Of Venice Movie
Two films. Othello - Shakespearean drama of jealousy and paranoia, covetousness and intrigue. This is the tragic tale of Othello the Moor and his bride Desdemona, driven to jealousy and death by the malicious plotting of those closest to them. An excellent production from the RSC, displaying some of the finest talent in British theatre, with Ian McKellan is the spiteful Iago and Willard White playing the part of Othello. The Merchant Of Venice - This production of one of William Shakespeare's finest plays is a delight to the senses. The play centres on Shylock the Jew, who lends the young Venetian, Antonio, money on the security of a pound of flesh. Things go awry and a dramatic trial ensues, and the lovely Portia steps in to plead on Antonio's behalf.
