Platters, The And The Coasters Movie
The Platters were one of the top vocal groups of the 1950's, selling 53 million records and being among the first doo-wop groups to be inducted in to the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame (1990). The Coasters comic vocals plus the writing and production of Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller resulted in a string of wise cracking hits and they were among one of the first black singing groups to cross over and be considered rock 'n' roll. By the end of the 50's they were America's most popular black rock and roll group. The Platters - Tracklist: Only You, He's Mine, My Prayer, Twilight Time, Red Sails In The Sunset, Harbour Lights, The Great Pretender, Sixteen Tons and Smoke Gets In Your Eyes. The Coasters - Tracklist: Yakety Yak, Young Blood, Rock 'n' Roll, Poison Ivy, Little Egypt and Charlie Brown. Both concerts were recorded live at the Rock 'n' Roll Palace Orlando, Florida.
