Family Stone, The Movie
The close-knit and quirky members of the Stone family, led by their unconventional mother (Diane Keaton), openly revolt when 'perfect' son, Everett (Dermot Mulroney), brings his girlfriend, Meredith (Sarah Jessica Parker), home for the holidays to meet them with plans of proposing. Where the family is warm and laid back, she is an uptight, ultra-manicured and high strung workaholic. Despite Meredith's tireless efforts to fit in, she digs even deeper holes for herself until she's convinced the Stones will never come to accept her. To survive the onslaught before totally unraveling, Meredith convinces her sister to come join her for support, triggering further complications, hysteria and a good deal of emotion.
