Mike Bassett England Manager Movie
Hilarious British comedy with Ricky Tomlinson as Mike Bassett. When the England manager has a heart attack, football's top brass offer Mike Bassett the job (no-one else wanted it). Things start pretty disastrously when they lose the first two games and draw the final qualifying match. Fortunately for Mike a fluke result elsewhere means that the team actually qualify for the World Cup finals in Brazil. The England team travel to South America, but things don't get any better for Mike as he is caught by a news photographer when he is embarrassingly drunk and cast as the most unpopular Englishman ever. There's nothing left for Mike to do but make an impassioned plea to the country to get behind him and help turn the tide and bring football home.
