Whilst celebrating his birthday with friends and family an announcement is made on the TV that there is to be a nuclear catastrophe, Alexander promises to God that he will sacrifice all he holds to divert the disaster. When the next day comes all is calm and everything is restored to normality. Alexander must however keep his vow.
