Happy memories of a once-loved village encourage Zatoichi to return there. But when he arrives he finds great changes. The former boss, Hyoroku, has been reduced to a carver of statues of Jizo, the Buddha of Healing and his daughter has become a hostess. Zatoichi offers to help returns the village back to how it once was.
